[LED Behavior] Solid Power Light, Solid Data Light

Just Add Power devices have 2 green lights on the front of the device that are diagnostically relevant: a Power Light and a Data Light. On a rackmount unit, the lights on the port-side are diagnostically relevant.

Receiver Interpretation:

A Receiver with a solid Power Light and solid Data Light has:

  • Booted up properly
  • An active network connection to an active Transmitter
  • A compatible video signal from a Transmitter

A Receiver with a solid Power Light and solid Data Light does NOT NECESSARILY have:

  • An active HDMI connection to a display
    • The Receiver will show solid Power and Data Lights regardless of the status of its HDMI connection
  • Layer 3 access
    • Power and Data Lights only indicate video traffic accessibility; not general network accessibility.

Transmitter Interpretation:

A Transmitter with a solid Power Light and solid Data Light has:

  • Booted up properly
  • An active network connection (not necessarily to another Just Add Power device)
  • An active HDMI connection to a source outputting video

A Transmitter with a solid Power Light and solid Data Light does NOT NECESSARILY have:

  • A Receiver that is watching the Transmitter
    • The Transmitter will show solid Power and Data Lights regardless of how many Receivers are correctly or incorrectly receiving its video signal
  • Layer 3 access
    • Power and Data Lights only indicate video traffic accessibility; not general network accessibility
