Overview

The Just Add Power 1G system was the company’s first-generation HD over IP solution. It distributes HDMI video up to 1080p over a 100 Mbps network using an encode/decode architecture, with Transmitters connected to sources and Receivers connected to displays.

1G served as Just Add Power’s flagship platform from June 2008 until the release of 2G in Summer 2010.

Despite its age, 1G systems continue to be supported through available firmware, diagnostic tools, and limited hardware for system expansion.

Troubleshooting

Compared to later generations, 1G systems have very limited functionality. They support only basic 1080p video encoding and decoding, which keeps troubleshooting straightforward.

  1. Power-cycle the system. In many cases, a reboot resolves the issue.
  2. Swap a known-working unit with the problem unit. If the issue follows the unit, the hardware is likely at fault.

If the issue persists and the current firmware version is unknown, update all units in the system to firmware v92.
