Important Notice – Dante Broadway Chipset End of Support
Dante has announced that support for the Broadway chipset will conclude on January 1, 2027. This impacts the retired 3G 767DSS model.
As a result, beginning in 2027, Just Add Power will no longer be able to provide support for Dante-related functionality on the 3G 767DSS.
The recommended replacement model is the UL-767AES. Please be aware that the UL-767AES requires the Dante network to be configured for AES67 operation in order to function properly.
The Just Add Power Dante Sound System Encoder - 3G 767DSS - serves as a bridge between a Just Add Power A/V over IP network and a Dante audio network. This device allows seamless two-way audio exchange, enabling audio from the HDMI over IP network to be sent to a Dante network and vice versa. It is a powerful tool for integrating audio distribution across both platforms, offering versatility in AV system design.
Compatible Audio Formats
The Dante Encoder supports up to 8 channels of LPCM audio. This audio specification matches Dante's support for LPCM only.
Initial Troubleshooting
These steps are necessary for any hope of audio.
Confirm that the 3G 767DSS is on firmware B1.3.0 or later. Earlier firmware versions do not support the 3G 767DSS. B1.3.0 is compatible with all other B1.x.x versions.
Confirm that the source is outputting an LPCM audio format.
Confirm that the Dante network port is active by connecting it to an active network device. If the Dante network port is not connected, the 3G 767DSS cannot receive audio from the Dante network and therefore will play no audio.
- Confirm that the EDID on the 3G 767DSS is at default, or is set to ask for only LPCM audio. Other audio formats are not supported.
- Press the PF1 button on the unit to trigger the Dante port to subscribe to itself.
Additional Troubleshooting
- The HDMI Out and 1000BT LAN signal that go to a decoder are always the same. Connect a display to the HDMI Out to see if you get the same result you are getting at the decoder.
- If you are getting the same result, then the issue is with the Dante network audio signal.
- If the 3G 767DSS HDMI Out is playing audio, but the decoder is not, then the issue is between the 3G 767DSS 1000BT LAN port and the decoder.
- Use the Dante Controller to subscribe the 3G 767DSS to a known-working Dante audio source. That audio should play on both the HDMI Out and any decoder watching the 3G 767DSS.
