Luxul SW-505 Switches Prevent Configuration and Service in AMP 2.0.0

Overview

AMP 2.0.0 has a firmware validation issue with Luxul SW-505 Series switches. The issue prevents Build & Expand and Service functions from working.

Affected AMP version: 2.0.0
Expected fixed version: 2.0.1
Affected switches: Luxul SW-505 Series

Workaround

Use AMP 1.6.3 to perform the affected configuration or service workflow.

2G Legacy Mode limitation: AMP 1.6.3 does not support AMP 2G Legacy Mode. This workaround is for Omega Series, Ultra Series, and MaxColor Series systems supported by AMP 1.6.3. Do not use it to configure or service a 2G Legacy Mode system.

AMP update prompt: AMP 1.6.3 may prompt you to update to AMP 2.0.0. Ignore this prompt while using the Luxul SW-505 workaround. Update only if you need to work on a system that requires AMP 2.0.0, such as a 2G Legacy Mode system.

  1. Close AMP 2.0.0.
  2. Download the AMP 1.6.3 installer ZIP file.
  3. Extract the ZIP file and execute the installer.
  4. Open AMP 1.6.3 and confirm the displayed version before continuing.
  5. Select Build & Expand or Service, as appropriate for the work you are performing.
  6. Follow the instructions in AMP to complete the workflow.

Verification

Confirm that AMP proceeds past the switch firmware validation stage and completes the selected workflow.

After configuration or service is complete, test switching through the system's control interface.

If the Workaround Does Not Apply

For an affected 2G Legacy Mode system, or if the same failure occurs in AMP 1.6.3, contact Just Add Power Technical Support. Include the switch model, switch firmware version, AMP version, and the workflow that failed.
