TP-Link Switch Rejects a Configuration File in AMP 2.0.0

Overview

AMP 2.0.0 may generate configuration files that some TP-Link Omada SG34XX Series switches reject during Standardized Configuration. This issue affects switches whose model names do not include the TL- prefix.

Affected AMP version: 2.0.0
Expected fixed version: 2.0.1
Configuration: Standardized Configuration

Cause

The switch model on the first line of the generated configuration file includes TL-, but the switch expects its model name without that prefix.

Workaround

Remove the incorrect prefix from both configuration files generated for each affected switch:

  • Discovery Configuration: The filename begins with dc.
  • Final switch configuration: The filename begins with jp.

Only remove TL- when the switch's actual model name does not include that prefix. Keep the rest of the model number unchanged. Do not apply this change to a switch whose model name includes TL-.

  1. In AMP, select File → Open Projects Folder. Open the folder for your project, then open Switch Configs.

The project folder path is \Just Add Power\Projects\{ProjectName}\Switch Configs.

  2. Open the file whose name begins with dc for the affected switch in a text editor.
  3. Check the first line. For example, an SG3452XP configuration may begin with !TL-SG3452XP.
  4. Remove only TL-. In this example, the line becomes !SG3452XP.
  5. Save the file in its original location without changing its filename or extension.
  6. Repeat the edit for the corresponding file whose name begins with jp.
  7. If the project contains multiple affected switches, repeat these steps for each switch's dc and jp files. Match each file to the switch it configures.
  8. Upload the edited dc file from the project folder through the switch webUI, following the instructions within AMP. For the upload procedure, see Upload Switch Config to TP-Link TL-SG34XX Series.

Use the edited file in the project folder. A separately saved copy will not contain these changes unless you also edited that copy.

  9. Continue the AMP workflow. AMP will automatically load the edited jp file when it applies the final switch configuration.

Verification

Confirm that the switch accepts the Discovery Configuration file and that AMP completes the final switch configuration without a configuration-file rejection.

If a file is still rejected, check the switch's actual model name, the first line of that file, and the location of the file being uploaded.
