Overview

Downloading a switch configuration file might be done for any of these reasons:

• Having a backup copy of the switch configuration in case of failure
• Copying the configuration from one switch to another

Walkthrough

1. Login to the switch webUI
2. Go to Administration --> Configuration --> Download on the left menu.
3. Select the file to download
   • startup-config is the on-boot switch configuration. It will also include changes that have been saved. This is the most common file to download
   • running-config is the current switch configuration, including changes that have been made but not saved.
4. Click Download Configuration
   
5. Save the file to your computer
6. Done! You have downloaded a backup configuration file for the switch.
