Overview

Downloading a switch configuration file might be done for any of these reasons:

• Having a backup copy of the switch configuration in case of failure
• Copying the configuration from one switch to another

Walkthrough

1. Login to the switch webUI

   

2. On the left menu, select Administration --> File Management --> File Operations
3. In the center window, set:
   1. Operation Type = Backup File
   2. Source File Type = Startup Configuration (This is the last-saved switch configuration, and the one we recommend)
   3. Copy Method = HTTP/HTTPS
   4. Sensitive Data Handling = Encrypt (Choose this option to get all settings from the switch)
4. Click Apply in the top-right corner. The download will start immediately.

   

5. Done! You have downloaded a backup configuration file for the switch.
