Overview
Luxul switches configured as a physical stack must be separated and returned to factory defaults before they can be configured as individual switches with AMP.
This procedure removes the existing stack relationship and prepares each switch for the appropriate AMP Build New workflow. It does not configure the switches for AMP.
Configuration Loss: Factory-defaulting a switch erases its current configuration. Complete the system inventory and document all switch, device, uplink, and control network connections before beginning.
Before You Begin
Complete the following preparation:
- Schedule a complete system outage.
- Document the model and physical location of each switch.
- Label each switch so it can be identified during the AMP configuration.
- Document and label all Encoder, Decoder, network uplink, and inter-switch connections.
- Confirm that you can sign in to the Luxul webUI using the existing stack management IP address and credentials.
- Have a service PC available that can be connected directly to each switch.
Procedure
Part 1: Separate the Existing Stack

Disconnect the Local or Data Network uplink from the existing stack.

Disconnect the SFP+ stack cables from all switches.

Confirm that the switches are no longer connected to one another and that none of the former stack members are connected to the Local or Data Network.
Part 2: Prepare Each Switch for AMP
Shared Management IP Address: After the stack cables are removed, each former stack member may respond using the stack’s shared management IP address. Connect the service PC to only one switch at a time.

Select the first switch to prepare. Keep every other former stack member disconnected from the service PC and the Local or Data Network.

Connect the service PC directly to port 1 of the isolated switch. Configure the service PC with a compatible static IP address if required.

Open the former stack management IP address in a web browser and sign in to the Luxul webUI.

Go to Configuration > Stack.

Configure the isolated switch as a standalone switch:
- Clear Stacking Enabled.
- Set Switch ID to 1.
- Set Priority to 1.
- Mark every additional switch listed on the page for deletion.
- Select Save.

Allow the switch to complete any confirmation prompts or restart required by the webUI. Do not disconnect power while the changes are being applied.

Sign back in to the switch webUI if necessary.

Go to Administration > Factory Defaults.

Select Yes to confirm that the switch should be returned to its factory-default configuration.

Wait for the factory-default process and restart to finish. Do not disconnect power during this process.

After the switch restarts, disconnect the service PC and label the switch as ready for AMP.

Keep the prepared switch isolated while preparing the remaining stack members. Do not reconnect the original stack cables.

Repeat this procedure for each remaining switch until every former stack member has been configured as a standalone switch and returned to factory defaults.
Avoid IP Address Conflicts: Factory-defaulted Luxul switches use the same default management IP address. Do not connect more than one unconfigured switch to the network at the same time. Keep the prepared switches isolated until instructed to connect them during the configuration upload process.
Next Step
After every former stack member has been configured as a standalone switch and returned to factory defaults, return to the JADConfig-to-AMP conversion procedure.
Leave the original stack cables disconnected and keep the prepared switches isolated. The conversion procedure will provide the required switch configuration upload and connection instructions.
